Bandung 60°

Ok thats the cover... best describe for our 5 days trip to Bandung.

Ok not  that it is hot hot. But hot in a sense it is the other kind of hot must go place :D ..
And as for the angle…we didn’t get to go to many places during our five days stay in Bandung. an adventure which most people may not experience.

The best part is meeting Bu Ela again.. it felt like going home to a relative's home :D

Through the dark cool after rain night in Bandung on our arrival... we got to ride on the angkot or the mini van up to Lembang.. sleepy not really tired... all the way on the journey.. Bu Ela jokingly said that our luggage will fill half the angkot on our way back home to Malaysia. (obviously right! ahhaha) i found out that Bu Ela's language is a bit different,, she is speaking Sundanese.. (oo now i know )

We had a late night supper... Kak Sam Hajah with her maggi specially brought from home.. then the famous amos cookies then the snacks Bu Ela gave us.. we feel asleep with the cool weather of Lembang.. which feels like Kundasang ^__^

The morning was a bit refreshing.. the Pondok Kehuripan, the hotel Bu Ela's husband is working; is a cool place with a very very nice view! we even took picture as if its for a tv coffee comercial
see the amateur model hahhaa
the view from the balcony.. i like how they make the stairs going down to our room on the other side

the tourist(kkekek) from left to right: kak aiza, our host Bu Ela, Mem a.k.a cigu Sairah (always my teacher ^_^) and Kak Sam Hajjah (alhamdulillah baru turun haji) and me the first picture on top ^0^

we had breakfast at warung nasi... local eating place.. masakan sunda..the owner is Bu Ela's student's mother.. we love it! we love the taste suits us best!

next we went to SD Pancasila, Bu Ela's school. but to go UP there (up like really going up the hill) was tricky hehehh.. easy for Bu Ela since its her place not for us the shreks junior and fiona its a bit fuhh.. we ride the angkot first.. too bad i didnt get to take picture of me sitting right close to the open door.. like you can fall anytime if youre not holding on anything. thankfully its only for less than 5 minutes.

a successful visit to the school. we got to meet the students practicing local dance and drama for a competition, teachers and the unexpected meeting with the school's headmaster!
that is the Peneropongan Bintang at the BOSSCHA Observatory Institut Teknologi Bandung 107° 37' BT 6° 49' LS. we went up to the place with ojek the motorcycle service hihihih

by 12 we had to leave ..need to check in to the hotel we booked. that is how we experience the macet or jammed.. it was raining heavily too. we got to our hotel somewhere among closely built buildings. its funny how they make the stairs so small and how magical it is that they can make up to 3 floors! our humble room enough for our luggage and sleep.. very bajet! we save pretty much for hotel rent. our aim is to hunt for the kain sulam!! the afternoon still raining.. we went through the streets and found our self at the back of Pasar Baru Trade Centre! on our way pass the fruit market someone says "Malaysia!" and when we went into the Pasar Baru the salesgirl... "Kakak! Kakak! Makcik! Makcik!" we had been detected! how are we going to buy things here?!? worried and felt that we had been busted .. the day ends with a bad feeling because we had to pay two times the normal fees for beca aka rickshaw.. hummm...

the next day with a new strategy we went to try out on our luck to conquer the Pasar Baru (ahahhaha)
that is only 10%  piece of cloth we bought (we spent half a million?!? in rupiah laa in the previous shop.. the next two days the boss who sold the fabrics to us was replaced by the brother .. we guess that he had have enough money from the deal we got) :p women and fashion .. lucky we were all ladies so shopping was FUN!!!
our favourite salesboy

what we came for :p
the busy street

our daily walk to Pasar Baru ^____^
the front gate of Unique Guesthouse, Jalan Ence Ajis. i laughed hard trying my best to bring up or pulling up things we bought to the second floor ..
the next day we went to move to another building because the first building was full and we were in shocked because the new room empty space was already filled with our luggage! we need a bigger room(actually we booked a bigger room but maybe miss communication).. well things settled and we got bigger room and we paid a little less than expected because we didnt use extra bed. i am very very satisfied for what we paid.

after we moved in to the new hotel room we went up to Lembang by angkot to experience kretek or the horse cart to Bu Ela's house.
street singer singing their heart out live!

The poor 'donkey' that had to carry 3 shreks and 2 fionas.. and a cool 'pussycat'
savouring hot sweet molen(with banana or black bean paste inside) while on kretek
the cool smoking cigarette uncle refused to eat the molen we offered which end up in my hand ^___^

finally arrived at Bu Ela's sweet home ^__________^ we had late lunch prepared by Bu Ela's daughter, Fitri

after Bu Ela's place we went to Toko 3, the only other place we went for shopping.

always smiling sweet Bu Ela ^_^

Kak Aiza and Bu Ela having a good time (kekekek)
each of us manage to grab  t-shirt on sale and it feels good wearing it. i really like the decorations in the shop. this is my favourite one..

isnt it cool? we thought it was someone but not!! ^__^

the second last day we went around the shop close to Pasar Baru.. it is even cheaper!!! (for some items)
and i met Bu Teti's daughter, cute like her mother ^__^

the last day at the airport we went by angkot with half of it filled with our luggage three times the amount we came with..
while queuing for drop baggage at the counter a group of Malaysian tourist was behind us and someone like perhaps their guide was like counting their bags and how many people altogether.. there were NINE people and EIGHT bags. Kak Aiza and I look at each other and laughed ..we were like FOUR people TIMES THREE for the bags... so do your own calculation.. (almost put us into trouble to pass the custom at LCCT, alhamduillah everything went well..)
spending a bit more on snacks and cakes at the airport .. (Bandung also famous for the bakery stuff.which we didnt get to explore..)

the weather was nice and we said good bye to Bu Ela and Bandung eventually....
MANGGA!
(mangga is a Sunda language we learn from Bu Ela which is used when leaving another person/friend to tend to other things)
